How We Use the Information
We use the Personal Information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and improve the Services and our Products, including generating, refining, and fulfilling personalized comic books, ornaments, and other Products You order.
- To process and ship Your orders, communicate order status updates (such as approval-required emails for personalized comics, shipping notifications, and tracking), and provide customer support.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or any activity that may jeopardize the integrity of the Services.
- To comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or governmental request, and to enforce our Terms of Service.
- To send marketing communications, including reminders, promotional offers, holiday notifications, and product updates, where permitted by law and based on the contact information You provided. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting us at hey@printwithmagic.com.
- To analyze usage patterns and conduct internal research to improve the Website, the AI generation quality, and the user experience.
How User-Submitted Content (Including Photos) Is Used
Photos and personal descriptions are central to creating Your personalized Product. We process this Content as follows:
- We send Your uploaded photos and prompts to our Third-Party AI providers (currently Google AI / Gemini and OpenAI) so they can generate personalized images and story content. These providers process the Content under their own privacy and data-handling terms; we share with them only what is necessary to perform the generation.
- We store Your uploaded photos and Generated Content with our image hosting provider (currently Cloudinary) for the duration needed to deliver, fulfill, and (where applicable) reprint Your Products.
- For printed Products, we transmit the Generated Content to our print-on-demand and fulfillment partner (currently Lulu, or other partners we may use from time to time), who prints and ships the Product to You.
- For email communications, we use our email service provider (currently Resend) to deliver order, support, and marketing messages.
You are responsible for ensuring You have the right to upload any photo You submit, and (where applicable) the consent of every person depicted, and (for minors) the consent of their parent or legal guardian. Please see our Terms of Service.
Children's Privacy
Our Services are intended for adults aged 18 or older (or the age of majority in Your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect Personal Information directly from children. Photos of children may appear in personalized Products only when uploaded by a parent or legal guardian who has provided consent, and the parent or guardian remains responsible for the use of those photos. If You believe a child has provided us with Personal Information without proper consent, please contact us at hey@printwithmagic.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
